Automatic Login with Google Chrome

Automatic Login with Google Chrome

Automatic Login with Google Chrome (Updated June 2025)

Are you being asked to log in every time you open Symbaloo in Chrome? The most common cause is a cookie or privacy setting preventing Symbaloo from saving the “Stay logged in” session cookie. Follow the steps below to restore automatic login.

  1. Open Chrome › Settings › Privacy & security › Third‑party cookies.
  2. Choose “Allow third‑party cookies” or “Block third‑party cookies in Incognito”.
(Some school‑managed Chromebooks force stricter policies. If the option is greyed out, contact your IT admin.)
  3. Scroll to “Sites that can always use cookies” and click Add. Enter each domain on a new line:
    [*.]symbaloo.com
    [*.]accounts.symbaloo.com
Tick “Including third‑party cookies on this site” for both.
  4. Confirm Symbaloo is not listed under “Sites that can never use cookies.”

2 · Disable “Clear Cookies on Exit”

If Chrome is set to erase cookies when it closes, your session cannot be restored.

  1. In Settings › Privacy & security › Site settings › View permissions and data stored across sites (or search “clear cookies on exit”), ensure the toggle is off.

3 · Watch for Extensions and Privacy Tools

  • Ad‑blockers, anti‑tracking extensions, or antivirus privacy modules can silently block cookies. Temporarily disable them or whitelist symbaloo.com.
  • Incognito windows always block third‑party cookies by default. Use a normal tab for automatic login.

4 · Log In Once More

  1. Visit https://www.symbaloo.com/login.
  2. Enter your credentials and tick “Stay logged in.”
  3. Close all Chrome windows and reopen Chrome. You should be signed in automatically.

Troubleshooting Checklist

  • Clear only Symbaloo cookies: Settings › Privacy & security › Third‑party cookies › See all site data › delete symbaloo.com, then log in again.
  • Profile Sync: Ensure Chrome Sync is on for “Cookies” and “Settings” if you want auto‑login to work across devices.
  • Managed devices: School or enterprise policies can override local settings. Ask your administrator to allow cookies for Symbaloo.

You should now be automatically logged in. If this is not the case, don't hesitate to contact us.
