Cookie users

If you're stuck on an outdated version of Symbaloo, unable to save changes, or your Webmixes aren't loading correctly, the issue is likely related to cookies in your browser.

A cookie user is someone who uses Symbaloo without logging into an account. In this case, all your Webmix data (tiles, backgrounds, settings) is stored locally in your browser cookies, not on Symbaloo’s servers. This means:

  • Your changes only exist on that device and browser.
  • Clearing your cookies or switching devices will erase your data.
  • Browser updates, extensions, or privacy tools may block or corrupt cookies, causing Symbaloo to behave incorrectly.
  • Stuck on an outdated version of the Symbaloo interface.
  • Changes not being saved or disappearing after a refresh.
  • Webmixes vanishing unexpectedly.
  • The site loading in a broken or incomplete state.

These problems often occur when a corrupted cookie or old cached data causes your browser to load an outdated version of Symbaloo.

âś… How to Fix It

If you suspect you're a cookie user or are stuck in a broken state, follow these steps:

  1. Clear your cookies and cache for symbaloo.com:
    • Go to your browser settings → Privacy or History → Clear browsing data.
    • Select “Cookies and cached images/files” → Clear data for Symbaloo only if possible.
  2. Refresh the page or open Symbaloo in an incognito/private window.
  3. Create a free Symbaloo account (or log in):
    • This ensures your Webmixes are saved to the cloud and accessible on any device.
    • You’ll also benefit from syncing, backups, and improved support.

📌 Important: Always Log In!

To avoid these problems entirely, we strongly recommend creating and logging into a Symbaloo account. This guarantees that your content is securely backed up and not dependent on your browser's cookies.
